Candle Care

With proper care, your Blue Flame Candle will burn beautifully.

Burn Time

The first time you light your candle, make sure to burn it long enough for the melt pool to reach the diameter of the container- this will prevent tunneling. Burn large candles no longer than 5 hours and travel tins no longer than 3 hours at a time- this will prevent unnecessary smoke.

Trim the Wick

Your candle comes with the wick pre-trimmed. It is essential to cut the wick to 1/4 inch before relighting your candle every time. By shortening the wick you allow it to burn more slowly and also avoid soot build-up within the glass.

If your candle starts to smoke, the wick is too long-blow it out, trim it, and relight.

Realign the Wick

After blowing out your candle, re-center and straighten the wick, if necessary (toothpicks work great for this).

Wax Build-up

If you have wax left on the inside of your container, make sure the wick is centered. There is no need to push down the wax.

Safety

Never leave a lit candle unattended. This could be a fire risk. Always place your candle on a level, heat resistant, non-flammable surface away from fabric or drapes.  Choose an area free from drafts to avoid uneven burning.  Do not place your candle on a marble or glass surface.  If the bottom of the hot candle glass comes in contact with a cold material, the glass may crack.
